Independence Capital is a direct investor-advisor sponsoring elite management teams to build new groups through acquisition and enhance their own equity reward. The Independence business was started with a clear focus to be the go-to alternative for teams and leaders who wanted a more supportive alternative to traditional private equity.
Having supported teams and leaders who have so far sold for in excess of £2bn we have expanded our group to include a Debt Advisory company, drawing on our core expertise and sharing those experiences, contacts and insights for the benefit of independent business owners throughout the UK.

We have seemingly lived in unprecedented times for multiple years in a row now (political, health, supply chain, inflation, interest rates, what next…). What was once exceptional is now the normal. Building and running a business when so many external factors are against you is one thing, running a business without the confidence your funding is future proofed presents a risk that can be avoided.
In the same way business owners face change and challenge, so too do lenders. Trading conditions in a lenders own business (be they product, team, customer, technology, their own funding etc etc) all ripple down on to their customers old and new. Genuine expertise matters
Wherever there is money to be made there will be companies plying their trade looking for customers. Unfortunately, many of those providing credit broking and debt advisory (see this article for what the difference is) are often displaced bank sales staff who have both a narrow product skill-set and narrow technical skill-set (i.e they have no trade outside of banking).
Whilst large companies and institutions can revert to the support of the Big 4 advisors like Deloitte, KPMG etc, the SME business owner can ill afford or entice the support of those advisors. That leaves SME businesses (which collectively account for over 50% of UK GDP) chronically underserved by advisors ill equipped to help diagnose and treat their needs, especially if they are not straightforward.
We are a team of qualified accountants, investors, former and current business owners and advisors. We draw on real world experience at all levels of banking and financial services and use that to help real world business owners looking to drive their business forward.
